  • What can I do to prepare for my float?
    • Watch our Introduction to Floating video • Arrive 15 minutes early • Don’t shave or wax at least 12 hours before your session • Avoid alcohol, caffeine and smoking prior to your float • Eat a light meal 1-2 hours ahead of time • Use the toilet before getting in • Have a lukewarm (not hot) shower pre-float
  • Do I need to bring anything?
We provide everything you need for your session including towels, robes, shampoo, conditioner & body wash, skincare and hair dryers. You may want to bring along a hairbrush and your contact lens case, if applicable. If you require anything else, please bring it with you.
  • Is there any reason why I can't come float?
To ensure health and safety standards, you cannot float if you: Have recently dyed your hair or recently applied tanning products (we recommend waiting 2 weeks, please contact us if you’re unsure) Are currently menstruating Have been tattooed in the last 4 weeks Have a communicable or infectious skin condition Have open sores Have diabetes, severe kidney disease, epilepsy or a heart condition without clearance from your GP Have incontinence or voluntarily/involuntary release of bodily fluids Are under the influence of alcohol or drugs If you are unsure if you are able to float, please get in touch with us!
  • What if I'm claustrophobic?
This is the most common question from first-time floaters, but there is nothing to fear: you are always in control of your environment (the lid, the music & the lights). Most people with this worry report having no problems with their time in the tank. You also can leave the float tank lid partially or fully open; however, doing so may result in your body feeling a bit cool while you float as a closed lid helps regulate the temperature of the water and air.
  • Can I drown if I fall asleep?
Definitely not! You may fall asleep, but because of the buoyancy of the water you will stay afloat.
  • Can I float if I'm pregnant or breastfeeding?
Prenatal Pregnant women love to float and it is safe to do so between 13 & 37 weeks. Floating can relieve a lot of the aches and pains caused by pregnancy and give you an amazing connection with your bubba. We do, however, recommend you consult with your midwife or GP if you have any concerns. Postpartum No one deserves to relax more than mamas in their 4th trimester and beyond. You can definitely enjoy a float if you are breastfeeding; however, we recommend breastfeeding or expressing as close to your appointment time as you can. If you are recently postpartum, we suggest floating after any tears, incisions or other open wounds are completely healed. Otherwise you might find the salt water quite uncomfortable. The timeframe for this will be very dependent on the individual.
  • What if I've dyed my hair?
Please make sure your colour stops bleeding out in your shower at home and does not come off on your towels before floating. Typically, this takes about 2 weeks; however, some hair colour takes longer to finish bleeding and we cannot allow you to float if this is the case. You may not be able to float if you use henna to dye your hair. Please contact us with any questions about your hair colour.
  • Can I float if I'm menstruating?
No, we ask that you do not float when you’re on your period. Please ring us to rebook if your appointment falls within your cycle.
  • What do I wear while I'm floating?
Ideally nothing! Each room is fully private with a tank and shower, so there’s no need to bring your togs. If you are going to wear togs, please ensure they are clean prior to floating.
  • Do I have to stay in the whole time?
You may leave the float tank at any time during your session. There are no latches on the door, making exiting the tank quick and easy. We do, however, recommend that floaters stay for the duration of the float to experience its full effects. You’d be surprised how quickly time flies!
  • How long can I float for?
All of our sessions include 60 minutes in the float tank, as it can take your brain and central nervous system a bit of time to adjust to the environment and truly relax. Anything less than that doesn’t allow you to experience the full benefits. You can Add 30 Minutes to your float for an additional $20 or if you’re a Float Member you can choose a 60-90 minute float for free. Keen to float for even longer? Get in touch with us to find out how you can float for up to 3 hours!
  • How is the water cleaned between each float?
Between each float session, all the water inside the pod passes through a medical grade 10 micron filter 4-6 times and the Epsom salts in the water act as a natural disinfectant, inhibiting the growth of bacteria. In addition, we use a combination of UV and H2O2 to ensure the water is fully treated between each float. We also require you to shower before getting into the tank to maintain the highest sanitation standards.
  • What is the difference between each room?
Third Eye Room and Crown Room house our original Dreampod V2 float pods, which measure 2.25m long by 1.45m wide. The average person will have plenty of space to stretch out during their float. These two tanks run on the “odd-hour” (e.g. 9am, 11am, 1pm, 3pm, 5pm & 7pm). Solar Room and Heart Room contain our Dreampod V-Max float tanks, whose dimensions are 2.34m long and 1.62m wide. They are better equipped to accommodate taller people and are host to our double float sessions, as they can comfortably fit two people. These two tanks run on the “even-hour” (e.g. 10am, 12pm, 2pm, 4pm & 6pm).
  • Can more than one person float at a time?
The short answer is yes! We have 2 double float tanks that can comfortably accommodate two people (e.g. a couple or parent/child). If you enjoy your own space, you can also book two separate tanks at the same time so you can share the experience without actually sharing a tank.
